Lillian’s List Foundation is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and preparing women to become leaders in their communities.We believe talented leaders already exist across North Carolina. What many lack is access – to information, mentorship, encouragement, and training.
Our role is to bridge that gap.
Through civic education, leadership development, and candidate preparation, we help women gain the confidence and practical skills needed to pursue public leadership. From their first educational program to their first campaign, we’re building a stronger pipeline of women leaders who are prepared to serve their communities with integrity, courage, and purpose.
Three Ways We Build Leaders
Learn: Understanding the Issues That Shape North Carolina
Meaningful leadership starts with informed citizens.
Throughout the year, we host educational programs featuring policy experts, elected officials, advocates, and community leaders who explore the issues affecting North Carolina families and communities.
Topics include:
- reproductive healthcare
- voting rights
- public education
- economic opportunity
- materinal healthcare inequities
- rural issues
- democracy and civic participation
These nonpartisan educational programs help participants better understand public policy and inspire greater civic engagement.
Prepare: Candidate Classroom
Every woman who runs for office starts somewhere.
Candidate Classroom is our free educational series designed for women running for public office.
Participants learn:
- Campaign planning
- Fundraising basics
- Communications and messaging
- Building a campaign team
- Voter outreach
- Campaign finance
- Public speaking
- Leadership skills

Lead: Political Pipeline Project
Leadership should reflect every community in North Carolina.
Our Political Pipeline Project identifies, recruits, mentors, and prepares women from communities that have historically been underrepresented in elected office.
Working alongside local organizations and community leaders, we intentionally invest in women from rural communities and communities of color, helping them build the confidence, skills, and networks necessary to pursue public leadership.
Because when more voices are represented at decision-making tables, our communities benefit from broader perspectives, stronger collaboration, and policies that better reflect the needs and experiences of North Carolinians.
